Over three thousand items from the UK arrived safely and without extra charge in January. They were distributed to quake victims in tents and makeshift hospitals. The supplies included much needed crutches and zimmer frames enabling people to walk for the first time since their injuries... |

A forty-foot freight container arrived at the YWAM centre in Harpenden on a cold November morning. Tens of volunteers turned out to load it within the given time limit. Some three thousand items had already been carefully packed into black bags ready to load, together with zimmer frames and crutches ........ |

At risk.. "I don't know who is going to come near my tent at night. Everything is so dark, there is no electricity, I am so frightened I cannot sleep at all... " This cry is found the hearts of women throughout the quake stricken region. This is an area of the world where abused women are known to be killed by close relatives. They are terrified. They would rather set up a tent on the freezing cold mountain side than risk the dangers of a crowded 'tent city'. ... |

Cookers that double up as lanterns were requested by the quake victims. Nights are total darkness and most kitchen equipment had been buried under the rubble. Crockery had been smashed, so they asked for hard unbreakable plastic cups and plates as well. Our team bought hundreds of cooker/lanterns in the market and distributed them in to needy families... |
